Six couples competed to an almost sold out and very enthusiastic crowd. The routines were all very well done and the costumes were great! Everyone should be very proud of the level that our dancers have attained! The results were: FIRST PLACE- Erica Horsfield & Adeesha Wickremasinghe SECOND PLACE- Julie Roberts & Chris Wood THIRD PLACE- Holly Harris & Liam Anderson There was only a 3 point difference between 1st & 2nd place, so we will be sending 2 couples to compete in Portland. Erica, Adeesha, Julie & Chris will be competing this weekend at the Largest Northwest Salsa Competition in Portland, Oregon. We want to thank Andre Mintz for judging the competition and teaching us so much at our day of workshops, Warren Scott for judging, Chuck from Cafe Casablanca & Brent Morrison for lending us the sound system. ======================================================================================== NEW BEGINNER NEW YORK SALSA ON 2 SERIES STARTS JUNE 10 NY style Salsa (mambo) is danced to the rhythm of the congas and the techniques used allow for quick turns and direction changes, complex partner patterns and more body movement while dancing on a crowded dance floor. This class will introduce you to the essentials by starting with the basic steps and moving through to basic partner combinations. Learn to move your body to the rhythm of Latin music and practice leading and following techniques. Perfect for brand new dancers and experienced ON 1 dancers looking to have the difference in styles explained to them. No dance experience required! Part 1, 2 & 3 do not have to be taken in any specific order, but all must be completed to move to Intermediate.
